Description

The Oceanic Excursion 2 BCD is all about being as streamlined and unencumbered as possible in the water but that doesn't mean you have to go without comfort. The Excursion 2 strips excess materials to remove clutter and adds a rear lift bladder with bungee retraction system for reduced drag, the result is a tough BCD that offers excellent freedom of movement but still provides ample lift capacity for all types of diving. The streamlined harness has reinforced contoured shoulders for comfortable angling back to the waistline, a padded back pad over a full rigid backplate, an adjustable chest strap that can be moved up or down, a depth compensating cummerbund and quick release waist strap. The point that the shoulder strap meets the waist has been moved further back to provide a fit closer to that of a wing and harness system and offers a much more secure fit with less movement. Two pre-bent stainless steel D-rings are positioned on the right shoulder strap for anchoring accessories. Each side is fitted with a zipped pocket with grommet holes that are ready to accept a BCD knife. The Excursion 2 uses the QLR3 integrated weight system for improved weight distribution. The QLR3 system utilise removable weight pockets with rubberised handles that are easy to operate by pulling to release the locking mechanism that secures the pouches to the BCD. The Excursion 2 has our BioFlex rear inflation bladder system that delivers up to 23L (58lbs) of lift whilst using a smaller bladder cell size. The BioFlex material is capable of stretching up to 30% more than typical bladder materials such as nylon or polyurethane which allows us to use a smaller bladder than would otherwise be needed to provide the same lift capabilities. A bungee system is incorporated into the bladder to help minimise drag through the water by drawing the bladder back into the centre when deflated without restricting inflation. On the back of the BCD there is a standard cam strap to secure the BCD to a cylinder which also has a non-dump-able weight pocket in either side to accommodate 4 - 5 kg of trim weight for balancing purposes.
